A student travelled to Russia over the summer, staying with family who lived in a Soviet style communal apartment. Noticing the multiplicity of objects that could be found in the communal kitchens, this student photographed these objects and their shared but separate relationship with each other. This project was completed during an independent study and concluded with an exhibition of the work.

In preparation, students completed 10 sketches each for 12 vocabulary words of their choosing, then refined their best sketch to be translated into pen and ink for their final project.

A collaborative film made between students studying sound art and experimental filmmaking. They took a nuclear testing propaganda film about the Bikini Atoll testing site and altered it through hand-painting, bleaching, and sound mixing. In the end, the students work twisted the film’s original intention.
